Somehow I knew it was her ever before she turned and waved. It was early(ish) for a Sunday (for me). She waved out the door of her topless jeep; the personalized plate affirming her identity. I was on a job, she clearly was as well. I wondered if it was the one of which we spoke about a couple weeks ago.
Remarkably this has been the first day in seven I’ve felt I have enough discretionary time to do much other than nod off while browsing a magazine. Early morning rounds felt great; not rushed and everyone was excited to be out. Trips were somewhat new and a little longer than usual, simultaneously allowing me to get in a workout.
Last night was close-out for one, today is a second and tomorrow a third. By now I’ve been able to follow some of the neighborhoods’ patterns and routines. They’re a couple of terrific neighborhoods; the residents have it good.
I’m good on my own; but better in their company. If there’s only one after the last week+ I’ve found it.  The trick is making it work.

That was the weekend; multiple clients, multiple obligations and missed deadlines. Dreams; the theme of the weekend. They happen. Broken sleep followed by controlled chaos and some deliberate down-time sprinkled in.
Creativity and cohesive thought sacrificed now for convenience and deadlines. Undecided if it should be a story, a journal, for me or for others. We’ll see how it turns out. For now a rushed summary of weekend jobs: early a.m. brisk walks; only time it was decent for the clients. Felt rushed but they came out ok and better off than waiting until later in the days. Adjusting to new clients; believe they’ll work out great. They’re all three great and the atmosphere fits us fine. Easy to nap which is the clue to me it’s a favorable environment. Detailed summary gets printed.
Tops for the day:50 miles early a.m. @ ~~ 18. I’ll take it. That’s all I got.

The rum flowed easy; it was a new-to-me type and caused the night to slip away. Duty called early today but the night wouldn’t be complete without a hunt for #1 client. Proved unsuccessful and led to a slight delay in starting the day.
The clients were sloppy; each in their own way and as expected. Part of what makes the job fun and different each time.  Morning is a drag while waiting for a parcel; just killing time and considering a nap. First leg of weekend run completed, next leg after parcel delivered
