Paper Cuts Be Damned

By my count I have five different cuts or gashes on my hands and I’ve lost track of the number of nicks on my legs. Years toiling away behind a desk left me smooth skinned and well, weak. Six months as a working stiff have left me physically more tired and beat up and mentally considerably more relaxed. I’m now the proud owner of boxes of three different types of disposable gloves and a dozen varieties of handy-man mitts. Now I just need to start using some of them.
Shadow’s unlikely to pull through this latest round of illness/injury. On the upside her Valley Fever titer score lowered again–considerably. Means a little less of one med~~she’ll appreciate that. On the downside her recent (and ongoing) illness is highly likely attributed to bone cancer in her left hind quarter. Dr. says we’ll go through a round or two of antibiotics then bring her in for another set of films in another month or so. She’s a good pup and at going on 11 she’s had a pretty rough go of it on and off for several years. So we’ll follow the guidance of our vet much the same as we did for Gordon. Dr. Lueth’s great and it’d be tough to argue against her. Shadow’s given us a lifetime of stories in the few years we’ve had her and we’ll do our best to keep her as happy as she’s always been.
