Things that cannot be offshored

The caller’s voice was friendly, if not a bit rushed and unfamiliar. Polite and to the point; the theme around my usual dry-cleaning order. “I’m calling to make sure I’m not missing a large part of your order; normally you have a sizable order, a full bag or more. This time only a couple items.” I had been south for a few weeks and lost track of orders sent in and received. Quickly I recalled I sent in just a couple slacks and sweaters.

“Oh thanks for calling; you’re correct; normally I send in a closet’s worth all at once. This time I just had a couple stragglers”

“Ok, that’s what I thought. I’m Todd and my sister and I have just relocated the store down the street, doubled it size; it’s eco friendly and really nice. You should come check it out sometime.”  I know you normally have a sizable order so I wanted to make sure we didn’t misplace something in the relocation. Thanks very much; have a nice weekend.”

Dixie’s Campus Cleaners;

Unbelievable service; when was the last time your dry cleaner (or other similar service provider) proactively called you in such a manner? A local personal touch that’s earned my loyalty indefinitely.
