New Year = Something New, Right?

The commute ceased to phase me over a year ago; it’s well over two now of completing it. It went from a rush of an event (that’s when I should have been documenting) to a senseless trudge to an enjoyable break to where I am now; somewhere in between all that. I may count them now that we’re at a fresh start and I’m taking a bit more time to record.  As a start I’d say I’ve filtered through all the airline clutter over the last 2.5 years and have to say that for my particular situation US Airways has been top-notch. In over 3 dozen flight legs over this stretch I believe count only one missed flight; weather related. A couple mechanical and weather delays, but only one that resulted in a missed flight. Point.

Normally the shuttle drop off is a non-event; just up the road a quick toss out the door; see ya in a couple weeks.  This time was different. The weekend rampage of violence brought  a sense of purpose to me I haven’t felt in some time; quite some time in fact. I was on task all weekend; filling several needed roles; purposeful in nearly all I did or thought. That was new; most weekends are a solid mix of nothing, entertainment, purpose, and degrees of insightful conversation. This one was new in that it was singular in purpose; it felt good. That single event will probably end up having as much weight on some upcoming decisions as any other; more so in some cases I’d suspect.

More than a week removed now that I’m finally getting to this and that sense of frustration has again settled; mind you it’s not about the separation it’s about the other. The other has about knocked me off the fence and you know, I think I’ve been beat down enough I’m finally ready to toss in the towel. The incessant headaches, teeth-grinding and tongue biting has finally taken enough out of me to render me useless at times.
The commute can continue a little longer; that will give a bit of time to add a few travel stories.
