No Title Would Measure Up

Last night was movie night with friends. What friends take you to a movie (and buy your snacks) on your way out the door? The same type as those who when you’re down with a bad leg:
  • Unsolicited bring you bad magazines, bags of peanut m-m’s and endless cups of coffee
  • Bet you a coke as a motivator to get back in shape
  • Meet your request for bad McDonalds and other breakfast wraps
  • Buy you a stack of history books
  • Constantly inquire about your status; putting up with your cardiac chart moods the whole time
  • Give up their personal time to come visit you with no agenda in mind
  • Drive you shopping for temporary post-op clothes, to your PO Box, to Menards to burn a morning
  • Loan you a car when you cannot operate your own that has a clutch
  • Have you over repeatedly to feed you beyond belief
  • Hire you to take care of their dog when you’ve got only one good leg
  • And welcome you back, picking up the pace right where you left off……
It’s that kind who make it so difficult to leave; those who sustain you every day, give without expectation. Those who repeatedly welcome you into their homes and treat you like family(actually probably better than family); even having you over as part of family gatherings. How I’ve been able to find and maintain a group of friends like that is so far beyond my understanding I’ve long ago stopped trying. Yet somehow I’ve been pulled into this near-fantasy friendship ring that can never be replaced; only complemented and built upon moving forward. For sure this is all The Plus.
Winding down ~~
