Every day we wake up we make dozens; some of us even hundreds of decisions. A couple weeks ago we landed on a decision that’d been simmering for awhile. Pull the plug on the midwest for good, pack it up and build a (present) and future in the desert. Almost a non-decision. Many things simply need a tipping point; this one finally came. We’re stoked; Ames is finally all in! Yea me!
More on all that~~ for now it’s been a couple weeks of lasts, finals, should-haves, get-tos, and extreme emotional swings. As I’ve told others–and myself a few dozen times–I’ve moved around my entire life; the big different between this one and the others is this the the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. Plus it holds a few other memories that differ from other places. It’s been painfully tough to wind down; fortunately I’ve managed to not be overly reckless; just skating through some responsibilities and clamoring for a full night’s rest. I’m hopeful that’ll come in a month or so.
Considerable more to come as I’m stacked up for weeks with happenings; one of which played a meaninful role in the move. That being my folks week-long visit in mid-June. A nearly perfect time had by all–the single thing that prevented perfection was the unusually high temps even for summer in the desert. That put a crimp on some outdoor activies; but no worries as we had so many things on the agenda we just did made some substitutes and moved a couple things around. That time was meaninful enough it led to some other discussions~~ which were quickly supplanted by a broken water pipe which led to another round of discussions! 🙂
Signing off for now; final park bike ride sunset over the weekend….
