Destination Weddings

Destination weddings represent over 15% of current weddings based on multiple sources. I did one–it was nice; even great. View, weather, beach, crowd, structure/format, pace….all things that are much easier to have some control over in destination weddings. Nice enough that I’ll do another.  Only this one will be better because I only need drive across town to the destination, a veritable oasis in the desert.

This one will be involve a little less travel, a little less planning, a little less of a lot of things. It’ll be an almost-winter event in a gorgeous lush garden setting. Summed up; tough to beat.

Planning:
Everything related fit in a rough outline form on a single page. A model of efficiency we can be. Taking a look through the list finds only a couple things outstanding and mostly have my name by them. Go figure. Assigning myself a (semi) major project each month this fit the bill so no sense in rushing through things early.

Destination:
See previous.

Attendees:
About as low-key as possible. A couple family, a couple friends and that’s about it.

Ceremony:
About as quick as possible. We’ve got the space reserved long enough to take a tour (totally worth it), set up, take care of legal requirements, have a calming bottle of something, pack up and leave. Not necessarily all in that order.

We’ll take a look at a couple more items on the list in the next few days leading up to the event itself.  The simple fact we have a destination  event means I have time to spare to talk about it. That’s reason enough for me to have one!
