| Praying Mantis at Sunrise |
Thursday is garbage day. Open the garage to wheel out the bin and the first thing I see is a critter crawling down the wall. I must have spooked him as he immediately turned his head to me and watched as I noisily made my way to the street. He didn’t budge; simply watched me walk away and then back. The Praying mantis is the only known insect that can turn its head around; it helps with catching it’s prey. They also make pets (according to some) but they make for great pest-killers in the wild so I left it alone to do its business. Perhaps I’ll cancel the exterminator this month.
