Nuptials – The After, Part I

Consistent with the low-key, non-traditional theme we packed bags, loaded dogs and headed north (yes north!) for several days of downtime. As if the previous couple weeks wasn’t relaxing enough we thought we needed a few days more. Actually the north was as much west–landing in Scottsdale. Fortunately for us we have friends with an available condo in Scottsdale and their gift was letting us use it. Nice.

Sizable development with all the trappings…..golf course view, walkable neighborhood, pool, hot tub, walking distance from coffee and bagels (every morning), and no more than a few minutes drive from a huge park with a lake and two dog parks (yup–canine friendly trip), groceries, movies, and the most ridiculous movie theater I’d ever been to. Apparently I need to get out more.

First on the theater. This place had multiple viewing room options–we opted for a nearly semi-private one that held only 20 people tops and had some of the largest, most comfortable seats ever. It felt like being in someone’s home. And somehow only a couple dollars more than a typical film. Excellent.

Next, the park.

Amenities such as well though out parks help draw all types of desirable neighbors. Retirees to fish, dog owners, young families with ball-playing kids, athletic minded adults taking advantage of the path/walkway. This neighborhood park may be on my list of top ten parks. Ever.
