Coming to the end of ten consecutive days of AniMal’s PetSitting(and plenty of +). Naturally holidays and breaks such as these increase the demands for such services and this was no exception. I was booked weeks in advance and actually turned down three clients/potentials due to lack of capacity/time.
A typical day: up by (and sometimes before) 4:00a.m., make rounds, head to day job, mid-day make quick rounds, leave day job, make rounds/walks then take a nap wherever I land. Wake up make evening/turn-down rounds and fall asleep for a few hours, sometimes as late as midnight. Repeat. Tomorrow I will do little more than sleep, unpack and lay around watching men’s basketball.
Highlights of the week: A few amazing view of the moon pre-dawn. Two or three mornings it’s been perfectly clear and the moon looked more like a harvest moon; burnt orange and low in the sky. Apparently today/tonight it’ll be as close to earth as it has been for the last 18 years. Largest full moon in 18 years.
I know it’s been particularly noticeable several evenings/mornings of late.
Incredible weather: unsure how it could have been better. On a week+ of carting around and walking dogs as well as tracking inside homes this has been a best case scenario for mid-March.
Mid-week holiday: It become much easier to get away from the day job with so many people out/unavailable due to spring break coinciding with St. Patrick’s.
March Madness: being planted in homes by necessity allowed for a bit of extra basketball watching. Nice.
Daylight savings time: extra time in the afternoons/evenings to get around, walk pups in the daylight and see people out and about. Helpful since I’m still a little gimpy and coupled with being dragged by dogs it was nice to have the extra light.
Time flies: Amazing. Ten days gone in a snap.
Forced exercise: next up is a +/- tally of the walking stats for the week.
