Amazing how quickly the body heals. In ten days to go from being unable to get out of bed or a chair to hopping along pretty well with a single crutch (outdoors) and mostly without one indoors. From completely dependent on my Five Diamond Personal Attendant (thanks again Ames) to just needing a lift around town, carrying a bag, opening doors or picking up something. Thanks cannot do justice to all those who’ve pitched in.
I’ve ditched the loose fitting under brace wraps; they don’t stay in place while moving around unless they are perfectly positioned. That’s a difficult thing to do solo so I’ve opted for a couple of the standard elastic knee wraps. They’re a little tight since some swelling still exists but they stay in place which is more important as I’m moving around regularly. No more close-up shots; now it looks as if it was kicked around in trail bike crash or similar. Nothing spectacular; all the remaining work is now internal as the external has mostly healed.
Fortunately over the last few days exercises have ramped up considerably. It’s nice to have a little more to do with my free time; sitting and reading only carries me so far.

Ok, the last one is a bit of a stretch……..but it looks good! I’m not really lifting the weights with the left leg; they’re being held up by the right foot for effect. I’ll get there in another week.
Through this first two week period I seem to be on track; the only question I have is around the limited ability to fully straighten the leg. I’m sure I’ll learn more with the official start of PT later this week. I’m trying not to peek ahead at the Six Phase, 26 week chart but it’s tough. I’ve set a goal of keeping a touch ahead of the six month chart each of the six phases. Anxiously waiting to move into the next phase in four days.
